Questions and practical info
Booking, arrival, groups and safety: answers for both of our locations, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Quebec City.
Booking and payment
How do I book?
Online, in three steps: location, scenario, time. Your confirmation email arrives right away. No need to call, even in the evening or on days we are closed.
Do I have to pay online to book?
Yes, a deposit. It is the price of one admission for the scenario you book (one deposit per booking, whatever the number of players) and it comes off the total. Pay the balance online when you book or on site, before your game. Read the deposit policy
Why does the calendar show $39 and not $33.92?
The calendar shows prices with tax included: $33.92 + tax comes to $39.00. Falderon Forest: $38.27 + tax ($44.00). The Castle of Eternal Suffering: $80.02 + tax ($92.00). Both scenarios play well with 2 or 3. Only from Friday 4:30 p.m. through Sunday, groups of fewer than 4 pay for 4 admissions.
I did not get a confirmation email.
First check your junk folder. If there is no email from us, the booking did not go through: please book again online.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes. Your deposit is refunded if you cancel at least 12 hours before your game (24 hours for Falderon Forest and The Castle of Eternal Suffering). Each booking can also be rescheduled once for free within the same window. Use the link in your confirmation email.
Do I need to book ahead?
Yes. Time slots fill up fast, especially evenings and weekends. We may also close early when nothing is booked, so book ahead to be sure of your spot.
Do you offer discounts?
Second scenario the same day: 25% off the cheaper admission, applied on site, for players who paid one scenario at the regular price. Children aged 15 and under: 50% off on Saturdays and Sundays until 2 p.m., one child per paying adult. Family package at both locations: $118.29 + tax per scenario for 2 adults and 2 children aged 15 and under, each extra person 25% off.
Birthdays: the birthday person plays free on the day, the day before or the day after (proof required), in a group of at least 4 people with 3 paying the regular price (50% off at The Castle of Eternal Suffering). For a second scenario, they pay the regular price and everyone else gets 25% off. From the third on, everyone gets 25% off.
Arrival and parking
When should I arrive?
15 to 20 minutes before your booked time, at both locations. Your booked time is when the game starts, not when you arrive.
Where do I park in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu?
Roadwork has been under way in Old Saint-Jean since March 23, 2026. Park on Saint-Jacques, Saint-Georges or Champlain Street and allow a few minutes to walk. We are not responsible for parking tickets. This information may be out of date: check the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu website.
Where do I park in Quebec City?
We are at 626 Charest Boulevard East, in Saint-Roch. Park on the street or in a nearby lot (paid).
What if we are late?
Call your location: we keep your slot and you play with the time left, at full price. If we have not heard from you 15 minutes after your booked time, the slot is released and the deposit is not refunded.
What should we wear?
In winter or bad weather, bring a change of shoes. For The Final Exam and The Castle of Eternal Suffering, wear comfortable clothes: these scenarios are very physical and you will get warm.
Groups, kids and parties
What is the minimum age?
For most scenarios, 8 or 13 is a recommendation, not a rule. Three scenarios have a firm minimum age: The Estate of John Jackson and The Castle of Eternal Suffering (16 and over) and The Clandestine Bar (18 and over). Kids 12 and under must be with an adult at all times.
My child is under 8. Can they come?
Yes. Kids under 8 can join a group for free. From age 8, the regular price applies.
How many players per scenario?
2 to 8 in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (8 in Vortex: Future) and 2 to 6 in Quebec City, depending on the scenario. We recommend 4 to 6 players. A bigger group? Book two scenarios at the same time so your teams play side by side.
How does a kids' party work?
The package is $169.60 + tax per scenario, for up to 8 players at both locations. An adult plays with kids 12 and under. In Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu only, add the party room ($30 per hour, tax included, up to 16 people) for the cake.
Do you have a party room?
Yes, in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu only: a private room for 16 people, $30 per hour with tax, before or after your game. The Quebec City location does not have one.
Do you have a corporate rate?
At both locations, $29.57 + tax per person ($34 tax included) for 18 people or more. Book several scenarios at the same time so the whole team plays together.
Can you invoice our company or school later?
No. The deposit is paid online when you book, and the balance online or on site on the day. We do not send invoices to be paid later, to companies or schools. You get a receipt when you pay.
During the game
Are we really locked in?
No. You are never actually locked in and can leave at any time. Our team watches every scenario the whole time.
Can we get help?
Yes. Our game masters follow your progress and give you hints when you need them.
Is it scary?
Every scenario lists what it contains: jump scares, dark atmosphere, horror, flashing lights, tight passages. A scenario with none of these is marked All audiences. You will find these notes on every scenario card and scenario page.
What language is the game in?
English or French, your choice, in every scenario at both locations.
How long is a game?
60 minutes for most scenarios, 75 minutes for Vortex: Future in Quebec City and 120 minutes for The Castle of Eternal Suffering. That is the maximum: a quick team can get out sooner.
Accessibility and safety
Are your scenarios accessible for wheelchairs or reduced mobility?
Both locations are at street level: no steps and no elevator. Inside, The Final Exam and The Castle of Eternal Suffering are not recommended for people with reduced mobility. Scenarios marked Tight passages, Crawling required or Very physical involve bending or crawling. In the scenario finder, tick them under “I want to avoid” to see only scenarios without them.
I am colour-blind. Is that a problem?
Vortex: Future and The Castle of Eternal Suffering are not recommended for colour-blind players. The other scenarios do not carry this note.
Why is there a waiver for The Castle of Eternal Suffering?
Every player must read and sign a waiver with information on health, safety and certain medical contraindications. You sign it after your booking is confirmed.
Gift cards
How do I give a gift card?
Buy it online and get it by email, ready to print or forward. It is good at both locations, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Quebec City, and never expires. It holds a dollar value: our prices may change without notice, and any balance left to pay is settled on site.
