Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Sauve Qui Peut inc. runs escape rooms in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Quebec City. We are responsible for the personal information we collect from our customers and from visitors to our website.

Our person in charge of the protection of personal information handles all your questions and requests: info@sauvequipeut.ca.

2. What we collect

• Bookings: name, email, phone number, scenario, date, time, number of players and game language.
• Payments: amount, date and payment confirmation. Online payments go through a payment processor: we never see or keep your full card number.
• Risk acknowledgement form: names, dates of birth and contact details of participants, including minors registered by a parent or guardian.
• Communications: what you send us by email, phone or voicemail.
• Use of our website: IP address, device and browser type and pages viewed, through cookies (see section 6).

We collect this information from you directly, or from the person who books for your group.

3. Why we use it

• To confirm, manage, change or cancel your booking and send you the related emails.
• To process payments, deposits and refunds.
• To keep players safe and welcome you according to your needs.
• To answer your questions and requests.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
• To measure and improve our website, if you consent.

We only send you promotional messages if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Our booking provider: Off The Couch

Our bookings, online payments and risk acknowledgement forms are handled by Off The Couch, Inc., a company based in the United States (Fremont, California). Off The Couch processes your information on our behalf and on our instructions to provide the booking service.

• Your information is hosted with Amazon Web Services and may be stored outside Quebec, including in the United States, where privacy laws are different.
• Payments are processed by a payment processor (such as Stripe, Square or Authorize.net). Off The Couch keeps only a reference to your payment method, not your full card number.
• When you book, Off The Couch creates a player record linked to your email. If you activate your Off The Couch player portal, you can manage your profile, contact preferences and saved payment methods there. The portal is governed by Off The Couch’s terms and privacy policy.
• Off The Couch does not sell your personal information.

5. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We only share it when needed:

• with Off The Couch and payment processors, for your bookings and payments;
• with our technical providers (website hosting, cookie management, audience measurement), to run our website;
• with authorities, when the law requires it.

Our providers may only use your information for the services they provide to us. Before sharing information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected there.

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Essential cookies make the site work. Audience measurement cookies (such as Google Analytics) and other non-essential cookies are only used if you accept them in the cookie banner (CookieYes) shown on your first visit. You can change your choices at any time with the cookie settings icon on our website.

7. Retention

We keep your information as long as needed for the purposes described here and to meet our legal obligations, including tax rules. After that, it is destroyed or anonymized.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information: access limited to team members who need it, and reputable providers. If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious harm, we notify the people concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, as the law requires.

9. Minors

Information about a minor under 14 is provided by their parent or guardian, who fills out the risk acknowledgement form on their behalf. We only use it to welcome the minor and keep them safe during the game.

10. Your rights

At any time, you can:

• ask to see the information we hold about you and get a copy, including in a structured, commonly used technological format;
• have inaccurate, incomplete or unclear information corrected;
• withdraw your consent to a use, subject to legal obligations;
• ask us to delete your information when it is no longer needed.

Write to info@sauvequipeut.ca. We answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of the page shows the latest update.
